PRIVACY POLICY

Simpler Bible app Effective date: October 7, 2026

Simpler Bible is a free app for the Bible in a Year course and other Simpler Bible studies. We built it so you can watch, listen and read without creating an account. This policy explains, in plain words, what happens with your information.

THE SHORT VERSION

We do not collect, store or sell any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no tracking. Your progress stays on your device.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

The app saves a few things on your phone or iPad so it can work for you:

  • Which courses you've added and which lessons you've completed

  • Your schedule (start date, pace and lesson days) and where you left off

  • Your settings, such as appearance, playback speed and read-aloud voice

  • Podcast episodes and Bible text you choose to download for offline use

  • Whether gentle "behind schedule" notes are turned on, and when one was last shown

This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.

CONTENT FROM OTHER SERVICES

To show lessons, the app loads content directly from these services. When it does, your device connects to them the way a web browser would, and they may receive basic technical information such as your IP address and device type:

  • YouTube (Google): lesson videos play in an embedded YouTube player. YouTube's use of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

  • Spotify for Creators (Anchor): podcast episodes are streamed or downloaded from the course's podcast host. See the Spotify Privacy Policy: https://www.spotify.com/legal/privacy-policy/

  • YouTube image servers: lesson thumbnails

  • bible-api.com and jsDelivr: World English Bible (public domain) verse text when you open a Bible reference or download the Bible

  • simplerbible.com: when you choose to open a lesson's original page

We don't control these services and don't receive any information from them about you.

READ ALOUD

"Listen to the text below" uses your device's built-in voices. The text is read on your device.

NOTIFICATIONS AND REMINDERS

The app doesn't send push notifications. Any "behind schedule" note appears only inside the app, and you can turn these notes off anytime in Settings.

CHILDREN

The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If our practices change, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
