The Scarlet Thread: Ep. 6: Genesis 12/15 - Promise

God’s Promise to Abraham: How Genesis Points to Jesus and His Blessing for All

In this video, we explore two important moments in Genesis—Genesis 12 and Genesis 15—and how they point directly to Jesus and His work in the world. In Genesis 12, God promises Abraham that through him, all the families of the earth will be blessed. This promise is much bigger than just Israel; it’s about Jesus, who brings blessing to anyone who has faith in God.

In Genesis 15, God makes a powerful promise to Abraham: though he’s almost 100 years old, his descendants will be as countless as the stars in the sky. This promise points to Jesus, the one through whom all nations are blessed. The Apostle Paul helps us see that through faith, we are all included in this blessing, just as Abraham was. It’s a beautiful reminder that faith is the key to becoming part of God’s family.
